About the Founder
Founders Cara Pitt and her husband Marcus decided to launch Southern Roots Vegan Bakery after Marcus decided to switch to a plant-based eating lifestyle. With her love of baking, Cara then started creating vegan baked goods with her own recipes. Their mission is to craft gourmet plant-based desserts that delight every palate, making vegan indulgence both accessible and exceptional. They make delicious vegan cakes, cookies, donuts, and ice cream without compromising on taste and they also ship nationwide from their San Antonio, Texas headquarters.

What is your top accomplishment in the past year and what are you hoping to improve on with the business within the next year?
Getting our products into Sprouts markets and we hope to scale to all 400 locations by Q2 2024.
What are you most looking forward to joining the SheScales program?
I look forward to meeting individually about our business and how to best maximize our marketing efforts and be able to learn good techniques to monitor.
What areas of marketing do you believe you are proficient in and what areas do you think you need more support with?
I think I'm great at coming up with a marketing plan but need help with the execution of the plan, knowing when to pivot or increase marketing efforts, and narrowing down what marketing opportunities would be profitable.
